Magpie Season

I can't believe I missed magpie season this year! We must have some very zen maggies near our house as I haven't been swopped yet!
Last year Shovey and I were walking around North Brisbane when *swoosh!* we were under attack! We had inadvertently walked too close to a Magpie nest and they wanted us to move on! Shovey was extremely keen to get out of there bolting up the road taking me with him. Being a greyhound he nearly popped my shoulder out as I struggled to keep up with his powerful strides. *swoosh* they swooped again and we both stacked it as we went around the corner, Shovey going left, I went right. We laid there stunned for a minute, looking up at the powerlines where we could see the magpie still watching us, making sure we weren't coming back past his nest.

Driving around today though I noticed a lot of magpie families, their young with fluffy grey feathers poking out from the black and white. Magpies have always held a special place in my heart as my Pop used to feed them. Magpies can be very friendly and have a lovely song, however they are very territorial, if you want a great laugh and don't mind a little colourful language watch below.
