Twelve Years And Counting

It's a big day in the Robert's household, we've been together for twelve years! Massive, I've spent over a third of my life with my Husband, my whole adult life sharing, loving and laughing with him.

We had grand plans to spend the day at Dreamworld with our wonderful friends however being a grown up got in the way. After getting the keys back to our rental we soon realised we had a massive job on our hands to get it ready for sale.

Our special anniversary weekend was spent turfing lawns, weeding & feeding, mulching and replacing all the broken bits and pieces in the house. Completely draining and exhausting but gee the house looks great!

I was going to have a whinge about all the hard work but look how far we've come! Long gone are the days of still living at home, the big step of renting a bedsit together, leaving our small country town to move around with the Army, building our first home and now living in our third - it even has a pool. We were so young and unsure but we always had each other, our own perfect team of two.

That's the funny thing about young love, they like to say you won't make it, that it's puppy love. It's grand to wake up every day knowing they were wrong and that you are still loving life with your very best friend.

After a weekend in the sun I managed a modest celebratory dinner of beef & chorizo meatballs and a trifle for dessert. Husbands favourite and nightmare to the lactose intolerant. So fancy.

At our Wedding our Padre spoke about why we wear rings, the symbolism of the circle that never ends, just like our love. So it is only fitting that instead of being showered with roses Husband gifted me coffee & my favourite pink Krispy Kreme donut <3

Happy Anniversary Baby! Here's to many, many more!
