Sorry No Rainchecks

Ikea is celebrating 40 years of going green, good for them! I was very excited as they have 40% off selected eco products, including the Ektorp sofa. We had plans to race over there tonight, sit on it a few times, make sure they were comfy and boom! New sofa! Plus I was really hoping to have the meatballs so I didn't have to cook, clever I know!

Yesterday I rang, "Yes we have lots of stock" "Yes, in the blue" "Ohhh we are getting another 35 in tomorrow so don't fret, you won't miss out".

Yup you guessed it, we missed out. "35 sofas in one day?" I hear you cry! Well no, not exactly; Ikea sold out of their current stock and the new shipment has been delayed until July 6th, the day after the sale finishes. They won't let me pre-purchase, I can't get it from another store, it's just too bad. How convenient; for Ikea, not me. They make us all fall in love with their slip covered sofa, in denim blue, with it's fancy 10 year warranty and then want to charge us full price when the new stock arrives. I secretly think the truck is parked around the corner and they're just not telling us.

I'm trying not to be disappointed, sad that I am stuck with my old, cumbersome couch for a little while longer. I am telling myself that it wasn't meant to be, that a new, better, equally as good value couch will come my way soon enough.
