Mental Health Mini Break

How do you look after yourself? Are you kind? Rest often? Take care of you? I'm pretty shit at it, I have the caring for others thing down pat but seem to manage to always put myself on the bottom of the list, that one at the bottom of your bag long forgotten about. Things have got to change.

It can be hard to express that things aren't ok, especially when you are the happy put-together friend. People are shocked when you get a bit down, they say things like "but you have a great life" and "you're always so happy". And they are right, I do have a great life and I am for the most part very happy. But I am not coping with feeling stressed, feeling anxious and feeling like I'm not in control.

First step to a happier me - time with Husband. Proper time, time away from jobs, work, cutting trees and digging up the yard.

Second Step - Doing fun things, isn't it funny how someone asks the last time you did something so fun and happy and you can't really remember? You can remember small moments that were great but not big ones.

Third Step - Stop worrying, stop worrying about clean floors, washed linen and folding fitted sheets. It all feels so important but it probably isn't. The roof probably won't fall in if I don't make the beds before work.

Fourth Step - Go to the Doctors for a check up, make sure there isn't a real issue that I've been too busy to notice.

Fifth Step - Live, Laugh, Love and RELAX!

I am going to start all of this by booking a mini-holiday, taking time off work, making a doctors appointment and by having fun.
