Can we all stop saying...

Hack. There I said it. I hate it, sorry we don't hate, we strongly dislike. I strongly dislike the over use of the word Hack. Every time I hear someone say it, or read it somewhere online, I'm looking at you Pinterest; I can't help but cringe.

Remember when a "life hack" wasn't such a meaningless phrase? It was usually about something useful like a proper budget or how do get your groceries done in record time at a good price. Now you can dip the legs of your Ikea side table in paint and call it a "Hack". Computer programmers used to use the term hack describe the way they skillfully or modified a program or device often without the owners knowledge or permission!

I wish I had the skills to change every article title from "30 Hacks that will change your LIFE!" to the more honest "30 small changes you can make that may or may not make life easier". Holding a nail in with a softdrink tab is not a hack, painting a terracotta pot blue is not a hack, none of these little tiny insignificant projects are hacks.

Instead, now that I have had my rant and typed my most strongly disliked word numerous times can we all agree to just stop saying it? Pretty please?

Cute idea, but not actually a hack. Let's bring back the Craft Project! Or is it only trendy if we call it a hack?!
