Exciting Times

Sometimes it is the really small things that make you feel loved, a cup of tea when you get home from work, a kinder surprise in the letter box, Husband opening the rollerdoor for me every night or even just a hug given without a word and held for that little bit too long. I adore when Husband carefully tucks my hair behind my ears as I always seem to have one side tucked and the other just doing whatever it wants which I know drives him a bit bonkers. Poor love, my hair is wild and does whatever it pleases.
Other times it is having your blinds arrive and Husband putting them up even though it is Friday night, without even being asked - whilst the footy is on. That is LOVE.
I finally have blinds across the front of my house! I doubt I have been this excited about a household item in a long time. We ordered them online from a company called Half Price Blinds, they aren't half price if you compare them to other similar companies but they are excellent value, competitively priced and will make the blinds to your requirements, you can find them here http://www.halfpriceblinds.com.au/
The blinds look great and were relatively easy to put up, measure twice and all that. The slowest part was actually sliding the pelmet fascia over the top! I love how they look and spent the morning adjusting how much light I needed. I know my lovely neighbours are devasted as they can be a bit pervy wervy, joking of course! Haha!
My extra exciting news is it was the mulching weekend! Whoo! Hoo! Husband was busy with the chainsaw taking apart all the big branches, I was in charge of putting all the smaller stuff through the mulcher. We saved any decent bits as we hope to get a wood heater for next winter. Won't that be lovely? Wood crackling away, old heavy teapot sitting on the top so we can have endless cuppas...ahhh....
Did you feel relaxed? Well it was shit, mulching and chipping wood is shit. I got hit in the face with a log, I have so many splinters and cuts I cried a little bit and I only did one day of it. Husband did two! He of course was the champion of champions and pushed through even when he was in agony!
We had to walk up and down our bloody hill hundreds of times and at the end of the day still had to put all the woodchips on the garden beds. PLUS we aren't finished, oh no! We have to take all the branches we ran out of time to chip to the tip next weekend, this is a double weekend job.

Not even a quarter of what was done. Never take out a tree, always pay someone, even if you can save lots of money it is not worth it. You will just have a shit weekend, and wouldn't it have been much nicer to just potter about whilst someone else did the tree?

Scar face! Yes I tried to cover it, I am terribly vain you know.
