Did you know you can now take your dog to Bunnings? I think it originally started for tradies so they didn't have to leave their working pups in the truck. We tried it out yesterday and it was pretty fun!

We are normally Masters people, Masters is cleaner, often cheaper and has air-con. However they do not allow dogs inside and Shovey needed a day out. We jumped into the little old blue car and Shovey thought all his Christmas' had come at once when we stopped at the servo to add air to the tyres. We walked around the park and avoided the childrens birthday party as he likes to pop balloons and steal food from the kiddies.

Back in the car to Bunnings, well when we got there it was a sensory overload! If you think the sausage sizzle out the front smells good just imagine how good it smells to a dog!

We grabbed what we needed, Shovey got smooched and pats from everyone. He did cop a bit of side-eye and bark from a golden retriever but we think Goldy liked being the only dog in Bunnings. We also spread the good word about greyhound adoption and how great they are, an easy sell when Shovey is standing there loving all the attention!

It does surprise me though just how many people are scared of dogs, especially ones on friendly green leads! Shovey tried very hard to win those people over too. The girls at the sausage sizzle were beyond excited when they heard it was for him but were disappointed that he was waiting in the garden, too many small children with sausages at Shovey height, he has a knack for stealing the sausage without the kids noticing so all they have is a bit of bread and a confused look on their face when they realise.

Dogs in Bunnings? Shovey says yes!!
