Did you have a great Sunday? I had a very busy one, we worked very hard to get our front yard back under control, we just have one giant pile of branches to go to the tip and we are done! Well for now, we want to put in more trees and finish the retaining wall and drainage but the tree is done! The big dying tree that has consumed our weekends for months will be gone!

When clearing the branches we found a row of pavers buried in the earth, we are constantly finding pavers in the gardens, along the fence, under trees....lots of pavers. Husband and I often think alike and so when I mentioned that we needed a firepit to burn off the leaves and twigs Husband already had one started.
We used the flat pavers for the base and the garden edge style for the sides, we are 8 short so will have to pop out to buy some more to finish the job. I was quite excited so we still had a little fire so we could toast some marshmallows for dessert.

Summer is just around the corner, you can feel it in the air, the rains are coming and the air is getting more and more humid. My favourite time of year. It was warm enough to swim yesterday, the water a fresh 19c soon we will be swimming late into the night and first thing in the morning. Husband has kept the pool sparkling all winter so I could dive straight in.

To cap off a great day Husband cooked us a bbq, kangaroo burgers and sausages, I put together a few salads and it was warm enough to eat outside.

Even though we were so busy working on all our projects we finished the day smoky, happy and tired. We are so blessed to be 20 minutes from the Brisbane CBD and still able to look up and see the stars at night.
