Soft Pant Day

Yesterday was a soft pant day, I came down with a cold and it was a doozy. Not sure how I managed to catch it, I thought I had made it through winter without so much as a sniffle then BAM! Down she goes! I spent the day in my pyjama's wandering from the bedroom to the couch and back again drinking lots of tea and doing a lot of nothing.
It was the perfect remedy, today I don't feel like death, I no longer have a fever and thanks to my local pharmacy I now have the good drugs! My heart is racing, my eyes are bright and I am back at work typing like a mad thing! Just ignore the sniffling, coughing and perfume of Glen 20 and we're fine!
What's your cure all? I have heard for a chesty cough you place an onion cut in half on the bedside table. I personally like a eucalyptus oil chest rub and you cannot go past short soup!
Once I was very sick, Husband being the kind caring man that he is decided that he would cook me short soup, a giant batch so I would have it for days. He found a recipe online and headed off to Woolies as I slept on the couch. He called for directions for numerous mystery items, I directed him around Woolies from the couch, all these obscure ingredients that even the staff weren't sure where to find. Some how I just knew wonton wrappers were near the fresh pizza's and not the pastry section. Confusing I know.
He came back with bags full of ingredients. Prawns, veggies, wonton wrappers, bottles and bottles of sauces and jars of spices. He set to work in the kitchen, cutting, chopping, peeling. All very stressful as this man does NOT cook.
Hours and hours later he wakes me, I am eternally grateful for the steaming soup in front of me. We sip and share a glance. It tastes nothing like it should. It is like a salty fish sauce water with giant dumplings. Of course I am starving and he spent hours making it so we finish our soup.
The next day I go to have another healing serve only to discover the wonton wrappers have dissolved over night so we have little balls of meat that look suspiciously like testicles floating in the fish water. The wonton wrappers are kind of slimey and float around the bottom of the bowl. It is too much, we can't eat it.
Now when we are sick we just pay the $4.60 for a short soup from the local Chinese restaurant.

I can feel it's healing powers already.
