Do you want to build a Shower?

I hope you sung that in your head to the tune of the snowman song from Frozen. It has been going around in my head for days so hopefully I have now passed it on to you.

We are blessed enough to have a pool at our house and whilst rinsing off under the garden hose was working it wasn't quite the resort feel I was going for.

Husband is the handy type so when he suggested he knock up an outside shower I leapt at the chance! We had a few bits and pieces at home, spare pavers, the showerhead and the drain. Masters helped us out with the piping, tap fittings and timber and then we left everything in the shed until we had consecutive days off together - a rare occurence!

I even used the nail gun! Much less scary than the big one we used to put the fence together, although Husbands thumb nearly became a part of the screen at one point!

For those who want to play at home we used the following,

1200mm T. Pine for the screen - attached with our nail gun!

2400mm T. Pine for the posts - Cemented in

8x 40m2 Pavers

2x Small brick pavers & 1 half paver for around the drain

1x Reln Rain Drain plus poly pipe to run the water to the garden

Copper and brass piping and tap fittings

Shower head

Black 13mm hosing to run the water from the tap to the shower

Fence Paint and brushes

Don't hesitate to ask how we did it if you want to try for yourself. We didn't have instructions or a plan, just a couple of days off work together and a can-do attitude!

Mrs Roberts.
