Things don't always turn out how we want, especially not in the kitchen! I have had my fair share of fails and poor Husband survived on those recipe base packets for a few years until I grew confident with my cooking.

Tonight was one of those nights, I am tired and looking forward to bed time. I thought I would make something quick and easy, pizza toasts. Nothing fancy, bread with pizza toppings under the grill. Cheesy goodness.

Perfect. Except my bread has gone moldy, in less than 48 hours - not happy Woolies! No worries I thought, I'll make my own. Yeast has died. Not even a bubble, it just stayed in the bottom of the cup like a big blob of failure. WTF.

Ok quick Google - yeast free pizza base....

10 minutes later I have a dough that looks suspiciously like scone mixture. I'm not going to share the ingredients, it is dodgy and I don't want you to make it. I carefully measured everything out, mixed it all together, rolled it out, carefully laid out the ingredients; added the cheese and remembered that I forgot to add the pizza sauce...Fark.

I tip all the ingredients off, add sauce, throw ingredients on with abandon. Chuck it in the oven. Slam the oven door and have a freak out to Husband.

Husband declares that it is totally fine and that it doesn't look like a weird pizza scone (liar) and orders real pizza. I let the dodgy pizza cook as it might be delicious. It's not. It's a weird flat scone that stuck to the baking paper with pizza toppings.

Sorry pineapple, you deserved better x
